ABOUT ME

I have a BA with Honors in History from the University of Texas at El Paso, with a minor in World Religions.
I have a Masters of Education in Curriculum and Instruction in Social Studies from Concordia University, Portland.
This is my fourth year at Health Careers High School and I could not be happier with my choice to join this community. Over the course of my career I have taught Pre-AP Geography, WHAP, APUSH, AP Government, AP Macroeconomics, Psychology, and Sociology.
I started my career teaching in San Antonio at East Central High School as part Honors Colloquium, a humanities-based program for GT/AP students. I was able to partner with an amazing English teacher and teach the same students for their whole high-school career.
I moved to Incarnate Word High School to teach AP US History and Psychology to wonderful young women in a college-preparatory program. After a brief stint with the International School of the Americas, a NEISD-magnet focused on social justice and travel with a project-based learning approach, I was able to move to HCHS.

I transitioned from AP Macroeconomics and Pre-AP Geography to AP World History Modern in 2019. I really love the subject and enjoy teaching Sophomores.
